Job summary

Great Western Dining Service in Wichita, KS seeks a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals and support a fast-paced kitchen team. This role requires following recipes, multi-tasking, and maintaining clean, organized workstations for daily operations and special events.

Applicants should be experienced cooks with knowledge of various cooking methods and sanitation procedures, able to work well in a team and communicate effectively with staff and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events.
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies.

Cook

Great Western Dining Service at our [Newman University in Wichita, Ks], location is looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals.. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
