Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a Cook for an on-site role at Wabasha-Kellogg School District. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 2:15pm, providing daytime hours with minimal evenings.

Compensation ranges from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour, with full-time status and opportunities to contribute to meal prep and service. Responsibilities include preparing meals from recipes, assisting with forecasting and special diet items, maintaining safety standards, and supporting events and staffing

Qualifications

• 1 year food service experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and scale quantities for large batches
• Dependability, integrity, and commitment to excellent customer service

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals by following provided recipes and ensure meals are ready for serving times
• Support daily meal operations by forecasting, preparing special diet items, helping with events, and stocking/serving items
• Maintain food safety by following HHFKA guidelines, completing HACCP logs, and monitoring participation trends
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly with regular cleaning, storage organization using FIFO, and maintaining a safe environment
• Communicate with supervisors, team members, school staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations and great service
• Help train new staff and fill in other roles when needed

Cook - Lunchtime Solutions

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals by following provided recipes and ensure everything is ready for scheduled serving times.
• Support daily meal operations by assisting with forecasting, preparing special diet items, helping with special events, and stocking/serving menu items during service.
• Maintain food safety and compliance by following HHFKA serving guidelines, completing HACCP logs and production records, and monitoring participation trends.
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly through regular cleaning, organizing storage areas using FIFO practices, and maintaining a safe, healthy work environment.
• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, team members, school staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations and great service.
• Contribute to team growth by helping train new staff and filling in in other roles when needed.

What You Bring

• 1 year food service experience preferred
