Cook

As a Cook, you'll help prepare safe, high-quality meals according to planned menus in a high-production healthcare food service environment. You'll follow standardized recipes, dietary requirements, sanitation procedures, and food storage guidelines while keeping production on schedule. Your attention to food safety, food preparation, proper storage, and kitchen sanitation directly supports reliable meal service for patients and customers.

A Typical Day

• Follow all recipes to conform with dietary restrictions.
• Follow correct procedures for handling raw and cooked products according to sanitary guidelines.
• Follow department dress code requirements.
• Follow sanitary guidelines for personal hygiene.
• Maintain the proper production schedule so food is ready in a timely manner.
• Perform sanitation duties as assigned.
• Prepare food according to the planned menu.
• Properly store all prepared foods using the FIFO system at all times.
• Report identified safety issues and hazardous environmental conditions according to established procedures.
