Job Overview

• Prepares all foods for patient and non-patient functions and meals assigned
• Works various shifts under the direction of the chef
• Follows daily production sheets routinely and records overages and underages after each meal service
• Practices high levels of sanitation as instituted by the department
• Maintains high standards in personal hygiene and safety

Scheduling Requirements

• Shift working, 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. each day
• Rotating weekends
• PD

Essential Functions

• Prepares main entrees for breakfast, lunch and dinner according to standardized recipes in forecasted amounts prior to start of room service, ensuring appearance, taste, and temperature are at acceptable levels
• Follows proper HACCP food handling policies and procedures daily
• Maintains all proper food temperature
• Works with food and supplies according to established guidelines
• Properly dates, wraps and labels all food products daily
• Keeps work area neat, clean and organized
• Shows willingness to take on additional assignments or put in additional time when needed
• Assists other department personnel in completing their assignments when possible
• Understands duties of other comparable positions in the department to maintain coverage in emergencies
• Follows daily job routines
• Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, supervisors, peers, and co-workers
• Demonstrates schedule flexibility
