Job Summary
Our cooks are responsible for safely preparing food items, following menu specifications and standard recipes, for service to guests in all outlets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate basic kitchen equipment as a line or fry cook.
- Actively participate with staff to cook, prepare, dish‑up and assemble all outlet food.
- Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.
- Greet guests approaching the service area.
- Use reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
- Read, write, speak and understand basic English for recipes and communication with team members.
- Adhere to control procedures for food costs and quality.
- Follow health codes, hand‑washing guidelines and other safety requirements.
- Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency.
- Prepare written food requisition for supplies and inventory for production in the workstation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Standards of performance, interpersonal working relationships, oral and written communication skills, fast‑paced teamwork, willingness to assume overall responsibility, flexible hours, and ability to handle high‑pressure deadlines.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen area preferred.
- Minimum working knowledge of culinary terms and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and ability to execute recipes in a timely manner.
- Food safety certification from a recognized authority (e.g., ServSafe).
- Ability to read, interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
- Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
The work environment is noisy, can be smoky, hot, and moist. Candidates must endure extended periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs independently and more with assistance. The role requires reaching, talking, hearing, and maintaining close vision.
