MAGNOLIA WELLNESS CENTER in Missouri is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Cook to help us deliver nutritious, delicious meals to our residents. If you enjoy fast-paced kitchens and take pride in quality food, we’d love to meet you!

You’ll follow planned menus, review production guides, and work with a team to ensure meals meet safety standards, taste, and presentation while maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in large-scale cooking preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in long-term care is a plus.
  • Ability to work safely, efficiently, and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
  • Review menus, census information, production guides, and prep sheets to determine daily food quantities.
  • Follow all safe food handling guidelines and state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain high standards for food preparation, taste, and presentation.
  • Assist with ordering, storing, and organizing food and supplies.
  • Use kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, steamers, convection ovens, ranges, and tilt skillets.
  • Prepare consistency-modified and therapeutic diet foods as required.
  • Assist with pre-prep tasks: washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
  • Taste-test foods and adjust as needed for quality and palatability.
  • Monitor, record, and maintain proper food temperatures.
  • Document menu changes and use approved nutrition substitutes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Follow cleaning schedules, wash dishes, sweep/mop floors, and take out trash as assigned.
  • Help ensure all meals are prepared and served on time.
  • Support special events or catered meals as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
