Job summary

Taher, Inc. seeks a Lead Cook to join our Elementary School team. You will follow standardized recipes, write menus, and ensure meals meet quality standards while staying within time targets. The role includes HACCP-based inventory control, cost analysis, USDA compliance, and opportunities for advancement. We offer guaranteed hours with no nights or weekends, free daily lunch, uniforms, PPE, training, and an inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach, train and direct a team.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Successfully pass a criminal background check.

• Following standardized recipes and writing menus
• Ensuring all meals meet quality standards, are correctly prepared and within acceptable time limits
• Managing ordering, receiving, storing and inventory control of all perishable products following specific procedures and HACCP standards
• Reinforcing USDA regulations
• Conducting cost control analysis while monitoring product and menu costs
• Controlling waste and effectively managing cost and budget performance
• Using time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership
