Job summary

Taher, Inc. is seeking a Lead Cook to join our Elementary School team. You will follow standardized recipes, plan menus, and ensure meals meet quality and time standards in a school dining environment.

This role requires leadership to train a kitchen team, strong communication, and ability to manage inventory, cost control, and HACCP compliance while maintaining safety and a positive, inclusive kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach, train and direct a team.
• Good computer skills.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds and stand long periods.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes and write menus.
• Ensure meals meet quality standards and are prepared on time.

• Managing ordering, receiving, storing and inventory control of all perishable products following specific procedures and HACCP standards
• Reinforcing USDA regulations
• Conducting cost control analysis while monitoring product and menu costs
• Controlling waste and effectively managing cost and budget performance
• Using time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership
