Job Summary

Prepares nutritious meals for inmates as mandated by law. Maintains a sanitary environment with the help of inmate workers under the Cook's supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares food for inmates and staff. Prepares trays to go to inmate populations, according to floor counts.
  • Maintains a sanitary kitchen with the help of inmate workers under the Cook's supervision.
  • Rotates stock and places food orders in correct storage areas.
  • Instructs inmates in proper sanitation of dishes and equipment.
  • Verifies special meals for special diets and prepares them.
  • Informs Food Service Manager of problems involved with kitchen operation.
Work Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in Quantity food production required.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and adequate insurance as required by County Policy.
