National Health Care Associates' Shady Knoll Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Seymour, CT, is seeking a Cook on a per‑diem basis to prepare and serve appetizing meals while meeting residents' dietary needs. This role offers meaningful work in a compassionate environment with opportunities for teamwork and growth.

You will join a team dedicated to resident well‑being, collaborate with dietary staff, and uphold high food-safety standards within a Great Place to Work Certified setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Safe knife handling skills.
• Experience operating commercial slicers, ovens, grills, large blenders, etc.
• Ability to follow instructions for the safe use, cleaning and care of dietary equipment, preparation and service areas
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
