Job summary

Slammer & Squire at WGV in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Cook who will deliver prompt, courteous service and help prepare menu items in a fast-paced hospitality setting within Troon. You will report to the Chef on shift priorities and maintain sanitation and station setup.

High school diploma preferred; culinary training or previous kitchen experience required; local/state licenses may be needed. Benefits include healthcare and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; culinary degree or continuing training in culinary field preferred.
• Prior experience working in the kitchen of a dining facility is required
• Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares all required items
• Reports to Chef at the beginning of the shift for priorities
• Sets up service units with needed items
• Notifies chef of any shortages
• Practices cleanliness throughout the shift
• Sets-Up, maintains, and breaks down cook station
• Adheres to health and safety standards
• Prepares all menu items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
• Covers, dates and neatly stores leftover products
• Returns unused food products to proper storage areas
• Places soiled pots and pans in proper area for cleaning
• Cleans workstation

Slammer & Squire at WGV, located in Saint Augustine, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Cook! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Pay Range: $17.00-18.00/hour

• Delivers and promotes prompt courteous and friendly service to all guests and employees


• Performs opening and/or closing duties as applicable


• Prepares all required items


• Report to Chef at the beginning of the shift for schedule of priorities that include varied activities


• Sets up service units with needed items


• Notifies chef of any shortages


• Practices cleanliness throughout the shift


• Sets-Up, maintains, and breaks down cook station


• Adheres to health and safety standards


• Prepares all menu items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards


• Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are reusable


• Returns all unused food products to proper storage areas


• Places all soiled pots and pans in proper area for cleaning


• Cleans workstation

Experience:

• High School Diploma preferred. Culinary degree, vocational school or continuing training in the culinary field preferred. Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications.

While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifts and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Job Knowledge/Skill/Preferences:

• Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g., The associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).


• Able to use kitchen tools and appliances safely and effectively
