Qualifications

Now Hiring for a full-time cook

Join our culinary team at ASC and play a crucial role in preparing and serving delicious and nutritious meals while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and food safety for our residents.

Key Responsibilities of a Cook include:

  • Following recipes and preparing food that meets residents’ nutritional needs according to menus.
  • Cooking or preparing palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in required quantities.
  • Leading kitchen staff in food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and managing supplies and equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean food service work area during food preparation and service.
  • Handling, storing, and disposing of food supplies in accordance with departmental procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling (can be earned during employment).
  • Preferred: Prior experience in institutional or healthcare food service.
