Job summary

Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community in Raleigh, NC is seeking a full-time kitchen team member to plan and prepare meals according to standardized recipes, maintain cleanliness, and ensure timely service for residents.

You will work 6:00AM to 2:30PM with rotating weekends, contribute to a supportive, mission-driven workplace and enjoy a competitive benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance.

Responsibilities

• Plans individual cooking schedule so that all foods assigned to prepare will be properly cooked and ready at the appropriate time.
• Assembles items needed for preparation from refrigerators, freezers, and storerooms.
• Follows standardized recipes and portioning procedures to prepare meats, gravies, casseroles, vegetables and desserts that require preparation and/or cooking.
• Tastes all food during preparation to ascertain if foods are seasoned and cooked correctly; makes adjustments to seasoning and cooking time as necessary.
• Merchandises foods to be served in the dining room and at special functions in such a way to make them attractive and easily served in standardized portions.
• Monitors trayline and dining rooms throughout serving periods to ensure that foods are available to replenish when needed without delay.
• Keeps cooking area in kitchen clean and orderly at all times, following outlined cleaning procedures.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.
