Meridian Senior Living is hiring a Cook in Florida to join our dining services team and care for our residents.

The Cook will manage food ordering, preparation and delivery, while upholding kitchen sanitation and nutrition standards. You will provide friendly, attentive service to residents and visitors in a supportive community setting.

Experience in food service and a passion for elder care are valued, as are teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and required state training.
• Six months’ prior food service experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Compassion and desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Effective communication with residents, families, staff, vendors and public.
• Must meet health requirements and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• As a Cook, you will work with the Dining Services Manager on food ordering, preparation and delivery and kitchen sanitation.
• Ensure food is prepared in a nutritious and appetizing fashion and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Details About The Cook Position We Are Hiring For

As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dining Services Manager and will be responsible for the Community’s food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation. Cook tasks in this role include ensuring food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and successfully complete training as required by State regulations.
• Six (6) months’ prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Previous experience working with the elderly.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks.
