JOB SUMMARY:

The Cook supports all activities of the Dining Services Department, including the Kitchen and Dining Room. This position is responsible for the quality of meals, timely delivery during meal service, and compliance with special diets offered by the Community. As a Cook, it is important to provide high-quality food preparation, attractive plate presentation, and prompt service to all residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow the approved Menu Program or approved substitution menu that meets nutritional requirements, as directed.
• Respond to resident preferences and dislikes to maintain high resident satisfaction.
• Ensure all foods are prepared to residents' satisfaction and in accordance with safe food handling practices.
• Store all food items appropriately and label them with dates.
• Help maintain a clean kitchen environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
