Job summary

Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill, IA, a 90-bed long-term care community, is hiring a compassionate Cook to join a quality-focused team dedicated to providing dignified dining and nutritional care for residents.

As a Cook, you will contribute to menu planning, prepare meals that meet dietary guidelines, maintain food safety standards, and build respectful relationships with residents while supporting their comfort and quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
  • Willingness to complete training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
  • Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
  • Prepare and serve meals that support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
  • Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in line with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
  • Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
  • Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
  • Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.
What it takes to become a Cook with Care Initiatives:
  • Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
