Job summary

Care Initiatives in Eldora, IA is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our 46-bed skilled nursing community. Part-time 6a-2pm with every other weekend provides opportunities to contribute to menu planning and meal service in a team oriented environment.

As a Cook, you’ll prepare meals that are nutritious and appealing, adhere to dietary guidelines, and help residents enjoy a dignified dining experience while building warm relationships with those we serve.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.
