Position Description Summary
The Cook provides a supreme dining experience to guests by preparing high-quality meals. The main goal is to ensure guests always enjoy exceptional dining experiences. Maintaining cleanliness of the food service area and equipment is a top priority. The Cook must execute dishes with 100% recipe adherence and maintain a clean work environment. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe work environment and proper storage of food and supplies. The Cook should work well under pressure, be detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Exceed first-class service standards with every guest, partner, and peer.
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety laws and regulations.
- Sample products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan and requisition supplies.
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation.
- Restock kitchen supplies and food items regularly.
- Assist with ordering and planning food supplies.
- Report equipment repairs and maintenance needs.
- Help train new cooks and staff, offering assistance as needed.
- Monitor proper rotation and dating of prepped and food items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; culinary school training is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of related cooking experience; experience in high-volume or fast-casual restaurants preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand instructions and policies; communicate effectively with customers.
- Food handler's card may be required per local/state regulations.
- Ability to work independently for extended periods and exercise good judgment with guests.
- Available to work various shifts in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with good prioritization skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and situations.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and math.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying temperatures.
