Job summary

Tarantino Senior Living Communities is seeking cooks to prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals for residents and guests at The Mission at Agua Fria Senior Living Community. You will follow the daily menu, maintain cleanliness, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

The role reports to the Director of Dining Services and offers opportunities on multiple AM shifts. Benefits include health coverage and retirement plans. Weekend work is required when scheduled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Availability to work weekends is required.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly (55+).

Responsibilities

• Prepares food per daily menu using standard recipes.
• Runs the food line during mealtimes.
• Presents plates attractively and ensures proper garnishes.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and serving line.
• Monitors food temperatures and records them.
• Rotates stock, labels perishables, and stores safely.
• Minimizes food waste through proper storage and recycling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Mission at Agua Fria Senior Living Community is seeking Cooks to prepare and serve nutritious, appealing and quality food for residents and guests, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and complying with all company and state food regulations. This position reports to the Director of Dining Services.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares all food in accordance with the daily menu planner, using company standardized recipes, in a timely manner.
• Perform a pre-meal meeting with food servers to review details of daily menu.
• Works the food line during mealtime.
• Plates food in an attractive manner and ensures that all condiments and garnishes are prepared and served with the appropriate foods.
• Keeps work area and serving line equipment clean and adheres to sanitation cleaning schedules.
• Ensures proper food temperature maintained and recorded.
• Keeps stock rooms, coolers & freezers clean and ensure that food supply stocks are rotated; perishables are labeled, dated and stored properly.
• Keeps food waste to a minimum by using food storage and food recycling techniques.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Availability to work weekends.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly (55 and over).

We are currently hiring for the following schedule:

• AM shift: Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed - 6:00 am-2:00 pm
• AM shift: Mon - Fri 10:30 am - 6:30 pm
• AM shift: Th - Mon 10:30 am - 6:30 pm
