Summary

The Cook will be responsible for using high-quality ingredients to prepare delicious meals for our residents. The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and committed to creating an excellent food experience for residents.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Cook or otherwise prepare high-quality, nutritious meals with excellent food presentation according to recipes and/or menu
  • Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment
  • Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner
  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
  • Follow all food safety regulations
  • Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures
  • Prepares food items on Community’s daily menu for Residents within scheduled time frame
  • Keeps food service areas clean in compliance with local and state regulations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to- ovens, slicers, mixers, steam tables, steamers, toasters, coffee pots, refrigerators, and freezers
  • Assures that Resident diets are being followed while on shift
  • Reports to supervisor any loss, breakage, or waste of supplies and equipment
  • Observes and communicates to supervisor any problems or potential problems in the dietary department

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Serv Safe Certification may be required

Working Conditions

  • Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, or vendors
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage
  • 100% time spent on site in community setting
