Job summary

The Arbor Company in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dining team. You will prepare meals using established recipes, adapt menus for dietary needs, and ensure safety and cleanliness across the kitchen.

Collaborate with the Dining Director on prep, production and service flow, manage stock, and support daily meal service for residents with warmth and reliability.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or training required or preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation and food handling.
• Experience with large batch cooking and special diets is a plus.
• Ability to maintain positive resident relations with courtesy and cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Provide food service and create meals using established recipes and menu cycles.
• Assist with stock deliveries, product rotation and regulatory logs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards with established schedules.
• Communicate with the Dining Director on prep, production and service flow.

You’ll be great on this team because you have:

• Culinary degree or training, or experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control, and cooking procedures.
• Previous experience with special diets and long-term care is preferred.
• Previous experience with large batch cooking (100 people) at plus.
• Ability to maintain positive resident relations through a courteous, cooperative and understanding manner.
