Job summary

Johnson County Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a dedicated hospital food service cook to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff and events, ensuring meals are flavorful, correctly tempered and attractively presented.

This position runs Tuesday through Saturday, 5am‑2pm. You will maintain a clean, safe kitchen and follow strict food handling standards while collaborating with a healthcare team in Overland Park, Kansas.

Position Summary: SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Saturday 5am-2pm

Prepares and serves food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients, employees and special events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and in an attractive manner in accordance with established standards. Maintains a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Six months experience in quantity food preparation.


• Food Handlers Certificate (If required by Local City, County or State)

Desired Qualification:

• Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred.
