Westminster Winter Park, in Winter Park, FL, is seeking an Assistant Cook to join the Dining Services Department. You will prepare and serve quality food for residents, guests and employees, following recipes under the direction of a cook.

Qualifications

• Florida Serv Safe certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.
• Minimum of 12 months experience in a full service culinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs limited hot food preparation under the direct supervision of the cook.
• Performs cold food preparation under the guidance of the cook (salads, sandwiches, desserts).
• Distributes prepared food to all service areas, restocks items as needed.
• Cleans and maintains station with safety and sanitation practices.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen and equipment.
• Experience with POS Systems.

We are currently searching for an Assistant Cook to work in the Dining Services Department. In this role, the Assistant Cook p repares and serves quality food including salads, cold sandwiches and pantry items using quality ingredients for residents, guests and employees. May prepare hot food items under the instruction of a cook. T his position reports to the Food and Beverage Director. Schedule: Part Time position | Weekdays & Some weekends availability

Essential job functions:

1. 1. Performs limited hot food preparation under the direct supervision of the cook in accordance standardized recipes.
2. 2. Performs cold food preparation under the guidance of the cook in accordance standardized recipes. Includes salads, sandwiches and deserts.
3. 3. Distributes prepared food to all areas of service accurately and consistent in preparation and presentation. Restocks items as needed throughout the shift.
4. 4. Cleans and maintains station by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills.
5. 5. Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
6. 6. Experience with POS Systems

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Florida Serv Safe certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.

Experience:

• Full understanding of basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques in quantity food production.
• A minimum of 12 months experience in a full service culinary setting.

Required skills:

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to fill in for cook as needed on a temporary basis
