Job description

Description

This position is responsible for preparing meals and serving the meal according to the menu plan in a timely manner, while maintaining a clean kitchen and serving area. Hours for this position are Monday- Friday 8am-1:30pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare and serve the daily noon meal. Prepare the day’s menu according to the menu plan, package meals for meals on wheels, all in a timely matter.
  • Clean up of meal preparation and serving area. Clean meal preparation and serving areas according to health standards, follow a monthly, weekly, and daily cleaning schedule on kitchen equipment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
  • Order food and kitchen supplies. Order all food and paper product items according to menu plan, responsible for accurate inventory of all ordered items.
  • Review monthly menu according to USDA and Aging Services guidelines. Collaborate with supervisor about the monthly menus and ensure that each day meets the nutritional guidelines per USDA and Aging Services.
  • Assist with registration for congregate and carry out meals.
  • Complete daily receipting of meal program income and prepare deposit
  • Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
