Job summary

Muskego Health and Rehab is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our Food Services team in Muskego, WI. You will assist kitchen staff in meal preparation and serving nutritious meals to residents in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions.

This full-time position includes rotating weekends and opportunities to grow with a supportive team, competitive pay, and benefits. Prior kitchen experience in long‑term care is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Prior kitchen experience as chef or cook is required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
  • Passion to work with an aging population.
  • Long-term care experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 1+ year of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals according to cycles menu.
  • Monitor food handling methods.
  • Deliver trays and carts to resident floors.
  • Clean dining rooms and work areas.
  • Work on the tray line and in the dish room.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables.
  • Per diem duties as directed by the Director of Dietary.

Job description

Muskego Health and Rehab is hiring for a passionate Dietary Cook to join our Food Services team in Muskego, WI. As a Dietary Cook, you will assist the kitchen staff in meal preparation, serving the nutritional meal to our residents, while following the residents' food restrictions according to their care plan.

This position is Full-Time with rotating weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Dietary Cook is primarily responsible for preparing and serving meals according to cycles menu, monitoring methods of food handling, preparing meal service, and performing assigned work and cleaning routines for the dietary department.

  • Portioning and serving of food items
  • Delivering of trays and carts to resident floors
  • Cleaning of dining rooms
  • Working on the tray line
  • Working in the dish room and pot sink
  • Sweeping and mopping
  • Disposal of trash and recyclables
  • Per Diem Duties as outlined by Director of Dietary
Qualifications:
  • Prior kitchen experience as chef/cook
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion to work with diverse aging population
  • Previous long-term care experience is strongly preferred
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
