Job summary

CareCore at Heritage in Minster, Ohio is seeking a Cook to join our dietary team. You will prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes, ensuring they meet resident diet orders and nutritional guidelines.

Join our team to maintain high food quality, follow sanitation regulations, and support timely meal service. Part-time shifts run 10:30am-7pm with every other weekend required, contributing to a compassionate care environment for seniors.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred, ideally in healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure meals follow resident diet orders and nutritional guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Work with the Dietary team to ensure timely meal service.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Dining Services.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with resident diet orders and nutritional guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Work closely with the Dietary team to ensure timely meal service.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Dining Services.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous cooking experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Dependable with strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Friendly and respectful when interacting with residents, families, and coworkers.
• Ability to work every other weekend and holidays.

Available Shifts

• Part-Time Prep Cook: 10:30am-7pm.
• Part Time Relief Cook: 10:30am-7pm
