About This Position

The Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a variety of food items according to work instructions, menus, and guidelines, while following food safety procedures. The role requires experience in preparing hot and cold foods, knowledge of knife skills, and the ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure. The ideal candidate can follow recipes, manage their station, and communicate effectively with team members to produce dishes promptly.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities
  • Review Daily Prep List and complete opening/closing checklists.
  • Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
  • Use kitchen utensils and equipment safely and properly.
  • Follow portion sizes, recipes, and food safety standards.
  • Properly handle, store, label, and rotate products.
  • Stock and maintain food levels at stations.
  • Understand menu items and prep ingredients accordingly.
  • Handle hot and cold food preparation conditions.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; at least 21 years old.
  • Minimum one year of relevant cooking experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience in cafeteria or large-volume food service preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures in food environments.
