JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing the kitchen and café including food orders, food preparation, cooking,serving,and ensuring cleanliness postmealand ongoing. Responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets licensing and health requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible forpreparation of Club Meals, Breakfast, Lunch, Snack and/or Supper, as needed.
- Responsible for unloading pallets and food orders.
- Must complete Food Safe training and ensure kitchen is up tostandard.
- Responsible for keeping the kitchen and cafécleanand sanitized, including dishes.
- Assistwith program development for Caféand creating nutritional menus.
- Willassistas needed with allspecial eventsat the Club.
- Assistin Primary location, with support provided to other Club locations as needed.
- May support food transportation and food service across sites as necessary, using a Club owned vehicle.
- Be prepared toassistwith meal preparation and kitchen operations at alternate locations when needed.
- Lead the implementation and successful completion of grants programs asassigned.
- Weeklyone on onemeetingwithsupervisorand required team meetings seasonally.
- Performadditionalduties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with youth of ages Preschool through 12thGradeis preferred.
- Must be available Monday- Friday from8:00am to 7:00pm during the school year and from7:00am to 6:00pm during the summer.
- Experience working incommercialkitchen.
- Experience working in food service.
- Must be able to understand, implement, anddemonstrateprinciplesof behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per theClubtrainings and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety.
- Must be able to model and reinforce the Boys and Girls Club values while working with youth.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be of the mental and physical capacity toobserve, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per theClubpriority outcomes andgoals.
- Ability to stand/walkforlong periodsof time throughoutashift.
- Ability to operate various typesof general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
- Must have the ability to liftup to50pounds in order to unload and stock food orders.
- This positionis considered to besafety-sensitive.
