Job summary

Layne's Chicken Fingers is seeking a motivated Cook to join our Texas-based team. You will prepare chicken, bread, and fry items using our signature seasoned breading, while also toasting bread and grilling ingredients for iconic club sandwiches.

Responsibilities

• Prepare our chicken, breading it in our seasoned breading and fry to perfection.
• Manning the griddle and toasting bread for club sandwiches.
• Cook according to Layne’s quality standards and recipes.
• Keep the kitchen area clean and organized.
• Assist with prep and support other team members as needed.

THE ROLE

As a Cook, your main responsibilities will be to prepare our chicken, breading it in our uniquely seasoned breading and frying it to perfection in our state-of-the-art fryers, manning our griddle plate where we toast our authentic Texas toasting bread, and grill our cheese and bacon for our famous club sandwiches. A huge part of who we are and what we are about is our fun-loving, non-corporate environment, so as a Layne's Line Cook you will be part of our culture which ensures everyone has fun while we serve our guests our "Soon to be Famous"™ Chicken Fingers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Communicate with the front cashier and drive thru on the number of customers present.
• Communicate with other cooks on food status and speed.
• Assist with prep.
• Ensure the kitchen remains immaculate, cleaning as often as possible
• Keep up to pace with orders from both the front and drive thru.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to lift and carry 55 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience in a fast-food concept.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
