Job description

Join to apply for the Cook role at Phoenix Senior Living.

This position is with The Bungalows At Mayfield, which is seeking Cooks to join their team. The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director.

Shift Details: Mon-Fri; Every other weekend required.

Purpose: The Cook is responsible for all food preparation, ensuring food meets quality, quantity, and service standards. Responsible for managing food production in the absence of the Lead Cook or Food and Beverage Director, handling all foods according to sanitary standards and regulations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, record keeping, inventory, and regulatory compliance.
  • Follow menus and recipes, prepare special dietary needs, and texture-modified foods as directed.
  • Organize work to meet production and service requirements.
  • Monitor food quality, temperature, and taste, maintaining safety and compliance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operate dishwashing equipment per food safety standards.

Record Keeping and Resident Services:

  • Maintain records for service standards and compliance, including temperature logs and taste evaluation sheets.
  • Protect resident confidentiality and review dietary information as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Culinary training preferred.
  • At least 1 year of food preparation experience, including therapeutic diets.
  • Current SERV Safe certification or ability to obtain it.

Salary: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour.
