Job summary

Tailwind Concessions is seeking a friendly Cook to prepare meals and deliver quick, quality service for travelers at Lafayette, LA.

Part-time position with an opportunity to move to full time. Full-time hours for two weeks of training. Training hours 8AM-3PM.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, operate fryers and grills, maintain clean workspaces, and follow health and safety standards to ensure great guest experiences.

About the Role:

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that they are of high quality and meet our customers' expectations. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be crucial to your success in this role.

PART TIME POSITION WITH OPPORTUNITY TO MOVE TO FULL TIME. FULL TIME HOURS FOR TWO WEEKS OF TRAINING. TRAINING HOURS 8AM- 3PM

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provides quality food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including safe temperatures at which ingredients must be kept and to which food must be prepared to avoid foodborne illness
• Ability to work as part of a team

• Operating the fryer, cleaning and change oil
• Flat top grill
• Operating Meat slicer
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace
• Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment
• Prep ingredients to be used in cooking
• Restock and replenish product and inventory supplies
• Interact with customers in a positive and upbeat manner

Qualifications/Skills:

• Accountability for the dishes they prepare measuring up to the expectations of management and customers alike
• Comprehension and organization to follow direct orders, recipes and to correctly prepare dishes to the standards of the restaurant
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle tools, such as knife techniques for chopping, slicing, cutting and dicing
• Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle extreme heat and work shifts
