Job Summary

Cooks at Malibu Jack's are friendly, upbeat individuals with a desire to provide high quality food products, safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for ensuring that all menu items are prepared accurately, working with the team to manage low ticket times and uncompromising food quality, practicing safe food handling, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and working under pressure.

Cooks report to the Kitchen Manager

Qualifications

• Kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Exemplifies the company’s core values.
• Ensures optimum guest experience.
• Hold staff accountable for quality, consistency, and upkeep of sanitization standards as set forth by company and state regulations.
• Practices an ownership mentality with an emphasis in motivation and teamwork.
• Maintains highest levels of quality & presentation.
• Accurately portions all orders to ensure low food cost.

Safety

• Ensures areas are free from hazards that would potentially injure staff or guests.
• Addresses and immediately corrects any practices that lower safety standards.

Education and/or Experience

• Kitchen experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability and willingness to eventually learn all stations on the line.
• Understands and can operate the POS system.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Physical Demands
