The Temporary Cook will prepare and serve meals for shelter residents and clients of the meal program. Manage the meal program in the absence of the Food Services Manager.

About The Role

• Plan, prepare, and serve meals in conjunction with Food Services Manager
• Maintain a sanitary work environment
• Monitor donations and other food and non-food inventory
• Help create and maintain a respectful environment for clients
• Clean and properly arrange the freezer, cooler, and pantry weekly
• Assist with the daily food pantry, maintain records, report statistics, and support volunteers
• Provide seasonal support as needed
• Be available to work nights and weekends
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Computer literacy, including MS Office
• Completed or willing to complete the Restaurant Servsafe Certification within six months of hire
• Valid driver’s license and passing MVR requirements for Salvation Army insurance
• One year of food service experience
