Job summary

Lifespace Communities in Florida is seeking a Prep Cook for on-call and as-needed shifts. You will prepare items per menu and ensure quality and safety of all dishes for residents and guests.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of prep cook experience, plus state certification in Safe Food Handling where available. A $500 sign-on bonus and flexible scheduling are part of the package.

• State Certified in Safe Food Handling where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes.
• Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.
• Coordinate food production with meal service hours to preserve quality, temperature and appearance.
• Monitor food temperatures and use proper storage to ensure safety per standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and assist with cleaning equipment as needed.

A few details about the role:

• Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes.

• Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.

• Prepare food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.

• Ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and use proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards.

• Maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition may include cleaning cooking equipment, and other areas of the kitchen as assigned.
