Job description

The Cook at the Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville Flagler Center is responsible for preparing food items, based on standardized recipes, for the restaurant while maintaining the highest standards to produce an appealing and appetizing product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  1. Prepares meals in accordance with brand standards and guidelines.
  2. Complies with certification requirements applicable to the position, including Food Handlers Safety Training.
  3. Maintains cleanliness and organization of all areas in accordance with State Board of Health regulations.
  4. Completes necessary food and station preparations prior to restaurant opening to ensure prompt and efficient guest service during operating hours.
  5. Knows the location and operation of all safety equipment.
  6. Assists in storage and rotation of food items according to hotel procedures.
  7. Ensures cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and work areas, while minimizing waste and maximizing cost efficiency and productivity.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  1. Possesses a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  2. Able to obtain Food Handlers Certification.
  3. Works well in high-demand situations.
  4. Has strong communication skills.
  5. Can read and convey information and ideas clearly.
  6. Has a desire to serve all guests.
  7. Must be at least 18 years old.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen setting is preferred.
