Job Title: Cook

Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort is hiring Cooks. The pay range is provided by the employer and depends on skills and experience. The base pay range is $20.00/hr - $26.00/hr.

Overview

Cooks are responsible for food preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items. They are assigned to a primary outlet but may assist in others or at special events.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure outstanding guest service by creating a friendly environment and following guest service guidelines.
2. Prepare, season, finish, and garnish all food according to recipes.
3. Prepare sauces, stocks, and soups.
4. Follow recipes, specifications, and control procedures.
5. Record food temperatures to ensure proper cooking.
6. Perform food prep duties like washing, chopping, marinating, and baking.
7. Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, fryers, ovens, grills, and more.
8. Use proper measurement tools.
9. Handle food receiving, storage, and reheating properly.
10. Store food items properly at the end of shifts.
11. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations and storage areas.
12. Follow safety and emergency procedures.
13. Report unsafe practices or poor guest service to management.
14. Assist in training other cooks as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum of 6 months to 2 years of relevant cooking experience preferred, in fast food or casual/fine dining environments.

Additional Details

• Shift Differential: Non-exempt employees receive an extra $1.00/hr for hours between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.

This is not a smoke-free workplace; cigarette smoke may be present despite air filtration systems.
