Job summary

AA Healthcare Management is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare meals for residents in compliance with federal, state and local guidelines, policies, and procedures under the direction of the Head Cook and Dietary Services leadership.

The role involves reviewing menus, preparing meals for therapeutic diets, maintaining safe, clean work areas, ensuring proper portions, and supporting daily kitchen operations to deliver nutritious, appealing meals to residents.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full service manager license.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparing food.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, ensure meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the residents.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Prepare and serve bedtime snacks.
• Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident’s meal tray.
• Review care plans to assure that the current food information is consistent with foods served.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
• Follow established infection control precautions policies and procedure when performing daily task.
• Assist / direct daily or schedule cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all time.
