Job summary

Aria-Healthcare-1 is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with approved menus and dietary guidelines in our facility in West Allis, WI. The candidate will follow policies, ensure meals meet nutrition plans, and work under the Head Cook and Dietician.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, plating meals, assisting with special diets, maintaining a clean, safe kitchen, and collaborating with care teams to support residents' dietary needs and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Follow federal, state and local standards and regulations.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures.
• Work under supervision of Head Cook or Dietician.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparing food.
• Prepare meals according to planned menus, ensure palatability and appearance.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure the correct diet is served to the residents.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Prepare and serve bedtime snacks.
• Ensure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident’s meal tray.
• Review care plans to assure that current food information is consistent with foods served.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
• Follow established infection control precautions policies and procedure when performing daily task.
• Assist / direct daily or schedule cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all time.

Cook Job Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedure, and as maybe directed by the Head Cook, Registered Dietician and / or Director of Dietary Services.
