Job summary

Apex Rehab and care is a 195 Bed long term and short term facility. We are seeking a talented Cook for FT and PT positions to work in the busy Food Services area of our facility.

You will assist with the preparation, seasoning and cooking of meals for Residents as directed by the Food Service Director or the sous chef. Schedule includes every other weekend and during the week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in food handling and preparation, sanitation and safety standards for institutions and/or restaurants.
• Culinary or cooking school experience/ courses preferred; minimum of a High School degree.
• Must be able to operate in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent ability to prioritize, deliver top notch customer service and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to understand the English language and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to follow all rules, regulations, policies and sanitary standards set out by management.

At the present time we are looking for a talented, creative and experienced Cook for FT and PT positions to work in the Food Services area of a very busy and fast paced kitchen within our facility.

In this role you will assist with the preparation, seasoning and cooking of meals for Residents as directed by Food Service Director or the sous chef.

Schedule Includes Every Other Weekend And During The Week

Additional responsibilities include:

• Helping to prepare food for the next meal service to include chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients according to established recipes
• Ensure all procedures are conducted following required Health Department and Company regulations
• Check all food temperatures prior to meal service
• Garnish all plates before they leave the kitchen area and have serve safe.

The ideal person will have experience in a busy kitchen or food preparation area
