Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Production Cook for Cayuga Medical Center Nutrition & Dining to prepare patient meals and retail offerings. You will follow standardized recipes under the direction of the Executive Chef to ensure high-quality, nutritious foods are served with person-centered care.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of large-volume food service experience; training in food safety is valued and ServSafe is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of food service experience in large-volume or batch cooking environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and large-scale production techniques.
• ServSafe certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold food items following standardized recipes and production guidelines.
• Scale recipes accurately while maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal food safety regulations and document temperature and safety logs.
• Maintain inspection-ready production and storage areas with established cleaning schedules.
• Assist with catering, menu development, and implementation as needed.
• Monitor overproduction and waste; actively work to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
