Job summary

Meridian Senior Living seeks a dedicated Cook to support our community’s dining services. You will manage food ordering, preparation, and delivery while maintaining clean, sanitary kitchens and delivering excellent service to residents and staff.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassion for residents, and adherence to state health regulations, with opportunities to grow within a values-driven organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of state-required training.
• Six months’ prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Previous experience working with the elderly.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver meals ensuring nutritional, appetizing presentation.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Work closely with the Dining Services Manager to execute meal service for residents and guests.

Details About The Cook Position We Are Hiring For

As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dining Services Manager and will be responsible for the Community’s food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation. Cook tasks in this role include ensuring food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
