Job summary

Slim Chickens is hiring a Cook for our Grimes, IA location. No restaurant experience is required—we provide training. You will work with fryers, breading chicken and other menu items, and support daily kitchen operations to ensure quality food and timely service.

We offer flexible scheduling, meal benefits on shift, uniforms, and opportunities for advancement. Must be 16 or older and ready to contribute to a high-energy team.

Qualifications

• No restaurant experience required; training provided.
• Willing to work with fryers in the restaurant.
• Follow basic procedures and recipes for breading chicken and other items.
• Communicate well with others in the kitchen for order calls.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Reliable and dependable; must show up for work.
• Able to multi-task.

JOB DUTIES

As our Cook, you impact all daily operations and are critical to the quality of the food prepared by your restaurant. The job duties of a cook include but are not limited to:

• Blanching wings
• Breading chicken, mushrooms, pickles, and other food items
• Working with the fryers for all of your shift
• Communicating with fellow team members about food orders
• Following order pars on the kitchen screens
• Cleaning the fryers
• Filtering fryer oil
