Job summary

HSHS Rehabilitation in Green Bay is seeking a Cook to prepare, season and cook meals for hospital patients, staff and visitors. You’ll lead in the department, maintain a clean, organized kitchen and ensure adherence to food safety requirements.

The role offers part-time hours (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, every other weekend) with base compensation and benefits including health/dental/vision, 401K, paid time off, employee assistance program, and tuition reimbursement for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or customer service experience with cooking experience preferred.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and tests foods being cooked to ensure proper seasoning etc.
• Consult with the Registered Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.
• Supervise Nutritional Services workers when washing, trimming or preparing food.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to approved recipes, using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.
• Make sauces, soups, stews, casseroles and desserts meeting established dietary guidelines.
• Cook meat, fish and poultry in a variety of ways such as baking, roasting, broiling and steaming.
• Maintain kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner and adheres to all infection control policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned
