Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Food Handler Certification required within 7 days of hire.
• Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, school, or institutional setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and therapeutic diet requirements.
• Ensuring food is prepared, portioned, and presented with quality and consistency.
• Monitoring and documenting food temperatures to maintain food safety standards.
• Receiving, storing, rotating, and managing food inventory using FIFO guidelines.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen, equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Assisting with patient meal service and cafeteria food production as needed.
• Collaborating with dietary staff to ensure timely meal preparation and exceptional customer service.
• Following all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory guidelines.
