Job summary

Center at Foresight in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a PRN cook to join our dietary team. You will prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary specifications, and therapeutic diets, while maintaining a clean kitchen and serving residents punctually.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of dietary experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility, can cook large quantities, and is flexible to work day, night, or weekend shifts. Benefits include generous PTO and 401k matching.

Qualifications

• One year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be able to write, read, speak, and understand English.
• Must pass a drug screening and background check.
• Must be willing to work any shift - day, night, and/or weekend.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Pass food trays.
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen and dining areas clean.
• Stock supplies and coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary specifications and for therapeutic diets.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary, and on a timely basis.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Review care plans to assure that the resident's dietary needs are being met.
