Job summary

The Center at Foresight in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a PRN cook to join our dietary team. Responsibilities include reviewing menus, preparing meals per planned menus and therapeutic diets, and coordinating dietary service with other departments.

Candidates should have at least one year of dietary experience in healthcare, be able to cook in large quantities, possess English literacy, and be willing to work day, night, or weekend shifts. Drug screening and background check required.

Qualifications

• One year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be willing to pass a drug screening and background check.
• Must be willing to work any shift - day, night, and/or weekend.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect special diet trays to ensure correct diet is served to the resident.
• Pass food trays and assist in serving meals.
• Clean the kitchen and dining areas and stock supplies.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and dietary specifications.
• Prepare and serve meals that are appetizing and meet portion control.
• Review care plans to ensure dietary needs are met.

Salary Range: $16.00 - $19.00 Hourly

Job Duties

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.

• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Assist in serving meals as necessary, and on a timely basis
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray
• Review care plans to assure that the resident's dietary needs are being met.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served
