Job summary

The Arbor Company in Illinois is seeking a Full-Time Cook to prepare meals and manage kitchen operations for a resident-focused dining program. The role emphasizes adherence to recipes, diet modifications, and safe food handling in a senior living setting.

You will coordinate with the Dining Director and help maintain quality service, stock management, and cleanliness across shifts, with a 3-day per week schedule (Sun, Wed, Sat) from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or training or experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control and cooking procedures.
• Experience with special diets and long-term care is preferred.
• Large batch cooking experience (100+ servings) is a plus.
• Maintain positive resident relations with courtesy and cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Provide food service and create meals using established recipes and menus.
• Assist with stock deliveries, product rotation and regulatory log requirements.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained per schedules and protocols.
• Communicate with the Dining Director on prep, production and service flow.
