Job summary

Senior Pharmacy Services Inc. is hiring a part-time weekend cook for Silvercreek Assisted Living. The cook will perform duties to maintain high-quality food preparation, production, service, and portion control.

Essential duties include preparing meals for residents, ensuring safety and sanitation, operating kitchen equipment, and following recipes and schedules. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Food Handler certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; or 0-3 months related experience and/or training.
• Valid Food Handler certification.
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks food for residents.
• Monitors food service for nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards.
• Frequently uses microwave, stove, oven, can openers, dishwashers, slicers, grease traps, vent hoods, and freezers.
• Cleans and inspects equipment, appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and proper operation.
• Prepares major meals by following recipes, determining quantities, and adhering to meal time schedules.
• Follows all food safety regulations.

The Cook performs specified duties in order to maintain high-quality food preparation, production, service and portion control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• prepares and cooks food for residents
• monitors food service for nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards
• frequently uses microwave, stove, oven, can openers, dishwashers, slicers, grease traps, vent hoods, and freezers
• cleans and inspects equipment, appliances, and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
• prepares major meals by following recipes, determining food quantities and following meal time schedules
• follows all food safety regulations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 0-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• valid Food Handler certification
• ability to multi-task

Communication Skills ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
