Job summary

The Waters of Gainesboro is seeking a dependable Cook to join our dietary team caring for residents. You will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner in accordance with established menus and dietary requirements, while providing suitable alternatives as needed.

This role emphasizes sanitation, teamwork with dietary and healthcare staff, confidentiality, and a compassionate approach to aging residents. A high school diploma is required, with prior institutional cooking experience preferred;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least one year of dietary experience in healthcare setting is preferred.
• Sanitation certificate or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures and food service practices.

About the Position

As a Cook at The Waters of Gainesboro, you will play an important role in creating enjoyable dining experiences for our residents. You will prepare and assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner while following established dietary requirements and providing appropriate meal alternatives based on individual resident needs.

• Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and food preparation area.

• Maintain resident confidentiality and respect each individual's privacy.
• Demonstrate good judgment, initiative, and professionalism in daily activities.
• Help create a positive and welcoming dining experience for residents.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, healthcare facility, or related setting is preferred, but not required.
• Must possess a sanitation certificate or willingness to get one in 30 days
• Ability to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures and food service practices.
