Job summary

Brightwater Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dining team. The role involves preparing nutritious, appealing meals for residents in a senior living community, while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and dining area.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years cooking experience in institutional or full-service settings, ability to follow recipes, strong organizational and communication skills, and a valid Food Handlers Permit.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Current Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals according to Brightwater menus and recipes, adhering to dietary requirements and physician orders.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment.
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with food safety practices.
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods, and regulate cooking equipment temperatures.
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food attractively and in a timely manner.
  • Carry out scheduled cleaning, stocking, and maintenance tasks as directed by the Chef.
  • Receive, prepare, and serve food and beverage orders in the bistro.
  • Attend scheduled training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, keeping them informed of any challenges or opportunities for improvement.

Position Summary
